NUMAS Haus Capital Campaign - Pillars of Hope
Your generous gift will offer those in need a safe and comfortable living environment with support until they transition to their new home after the 90-day program. Our programs educate, empower and encourage our residents to seek and secure long-term housing. NUMAS Haus sees the necessity for expansion with an ongoing waitlist that extends the time families in need are homeless. The renovated living space in the newly acquired building will more than double our capacity and reduce the time women and children are on the waitlist for housing. Serving more of these families on a centralized campus creates efficiency in long-term administrative costs and an opportunity for shared programing.
With the generosity of the community and a partnership with the First United Methodist Church of New Ulm, NUMAS Haus hopes to expand the mission of serving Brown County and those experiencing homelessness. The planned expansion will more than triple our current housing capacity and maximize office space. It will also offer additional play and community space, allowing for the strategic growth of the organization. As we embark upon this next step for NUMAS Haus and the new addition, we are asking for your financial support to carry out the renovations. This new space will allow for an efficient way to lower administrative costs while still expanding programming and housing capacity to serve more families in this area.
In 2013, the New Ulm Ministerial Association learned there were no shelters in the Brown County area and there were over 40 children in the school districts without a permanent address. The pastors, in collaboration with several churches and community champions, secured a home offered by the First United Methodist Church. NUMAS Haus was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2014 and opened its doors in 2016, with the first family moving in within 48 hours.
NUMAS Haus provides shelter and support services to homeless women and their children primarily in the Brown County, Minnesota area. The shelter is a home with a welcoming environment that can host up to three families at a time. During their stay, residents participate in a 90-day program which connects families to education, resources, employment, mental health services, and housing. After residents transition into their own housing, they continue case management services for up to two years to support maintaining long-term housing stability and independent living.
Please consider making a donation to support the expansion of NUMAS Haus. Together, we can provide hope and make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve. Thank you for your continued support and generosity. If you have any questions or would like more information about our expansion project, please do not hesitate to contact us.
In gratitude, NUMAS Haus
